Review Display Systems (RDS) in Kent has announced the release of a new 8-inch thin-film transistor (TFT) display module from Tianma, a manufacturer of industrial display technology.
The P0800WVF1MA00 is a member of Tianma's professional ('P') series, and it has a WVGA (800 480 pixels) resolution, a 15:9 aspect ratio, and it can operate in temperatures ranging from -30°C to +80°C.
According to the manufacturer, “The Tianma P-series display line-up is intended for use in a wide range of human-machine interface applications in which reliable, long-term performance is required.”According to RDS displays manager Justin Coleman, the display also supports a wide color gamut, resulting in bright, clear display images that can be easily viewed from all viewing orientations.
With white LED lighting, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and a brightness of 1,000cd/m2, the 8-inch display has a lifespan of 100,000 hours before it needs to be replaced. Views to the left, right, up, and down are all possible from an angle of 88 degrees.
The RDS Tianma P-series 8.0-inch WVGTA TFT LCD has a 20-pin LVDS interface that supports 8bit RGB color and has a WVGTA resolution of 800 x 600 pixels (palette with up to 16.7 million colors). In terms of surface area, the active display has dimensions of 174 x 104.4mm, while the outline measurements are 192 x 122 x 10.5mm. In addition, the active display has a resolution of 240 x 104.4mm.
This technology is expected to be used in a variety of applications in the future, including industrial process control, medical equipment, in-vehicle systems, factory automation, point-of-sale systems, and digital signage.
