Refraction of light through a prism is a fascinating phenomenon that occurs when light passes from one medium to another, causing it to change direction. Prisms are geometrically shaped transparent objects with flat, polished surfaces. The interaction of light with a prism results in the bending or deviation of light rays, leading to the formation of beautiful spectral colors.

Principle of Refraction:

The Refraction of light through a prism follows the fundamental principle of refraction, known as Snell’s law. According to this law, the angle of incidence of a light ray is related to the angle of refraction as the ratio of the velocities of light in the two media. When light travels from a less dense medium, such as air, to a more dense medium, like glass, it bends toward the normal. As a result, the light ray changes its direction.
